About the Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a respected and purpose-driven charity for an experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join their Housing and Property Services team on a temporary basis in County Durham.

As a Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you will provide comprehensive housing-related support to individuals with a range of vulnerabilities and complex needs. Working collaboratively with Housing Management, Property Services, and specialist support services, you will play a key role in helping tenants sustain their tenancies and progress toward independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Conduct keywork sessions and develop tailored Tenancy Sustainment Plans (TSPs)
β’ Support tenants with independent living skills and tenancy management
β’ Liaise with internal teams, local authorities, and external support agencies
β’ Assist with Housing Benefit and welfare claims
β’ Support tenants with rent arrears and debt management
β’ Manage and record anti-social behaviour cases
β’ Carry out risk assessments and maintain accurate records
β’ Coordinate repairs, safety checks, and essential household provisions
β’ Support move-on and resettlement planning
Requirements:
β’ Experience supporting vulnerable individuals within housing, tenancy sustainment, homelessness, or supported living services
β’ Strong knowledge of housing management and welfare support
β’ Excellent communication and partnership-working skills
β’ Experience managing complex cases and maintaining accurate records
β’ A compassionate and proactive approach to support delivery
β’ Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends where required
