About the Role:
Supply Care Solutions is recruiting on behalf of Peterborough City Council for an experienced Team Manager to lead their Assessment Team within Children and Young People’s Services. This role is key in ensuring children and families receive timely support through effective leadership, supervision, and coordination across the service.

Working Pattern:
• Office-based 5 days per week during duty weeks to provide hands-on leadership and support.
• Outside duty weeks, hybrid working: 2 office days and remaining days remote.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide effective, regular, and timely supervision to Social Workers, ensuring best practice and continuous professional development.
• Maintain oversight of referrals from the MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub), ensuring prompt allocation and action.
• Lead on threshold decisions, including convening and chairing strategy meetings as required.
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties, safeguarding procedures, and local authority policies.
• Monitor team performance and quality assurance, proactively addressing issues to improve outcomes.
• Foster a supportive and positive team culture, encouraging reflective practice and resilience.
• Develop and maintain effective multi-agency partnerships to ensure coordinated responses for children and families.
• Report on service delivery, highlighting risks, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Candidate Requirements:
• Previous Team Manager experience within Children’s Services, ideally in an Assessment Team or frontline service.
• Strong knowledge of statutory responsibilities, safeguarding frameworks, and intervention thresholds.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and supporting Social Workers, with focus on professional development and well-being.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to manage complex situations and make defensible decisions.
• Confident in building and sustaining a positive, high-performing team culture in a demanding environment.
