🩺 We’re Hiring – Residential Support Worker
📍 Location: Durham
🕒 Job Type: Permanent – Full Time (37 Hours per Week)
💼 Start Date: ASAP
💰 Rate/Salary: Up to £16.50 per hour for day shifts, with enhanced rates for night shifts and sleep-ins

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Residential Support Workers to join a Children’s Home service based in Durham. This is an excellent opportunity for caring, dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people in a residential setting.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people with their daily lives, helping them develop confidence, independence, and positive life outcomes. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and homely environment while promoting each young person’s wellbeing, aspirations, and development.

Shift Patterns:
• Day Shift: 10:00am – 10:30pm
• Sleep-In Shift: 7:00am – 11:00am the following day (including overnight sleep-in)

Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting young people with education, health, leisure activities, and life skills
• Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
• Acting as a positive role model and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
• Assisting with daily household duties including cooking, shopping, laundry, and maintaining a welcoming home environment
• Supporting family relationships and social connections where appropriate
• Working alongside colleagues and partner agencies to safeguard young people
• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care plans and reports
• Participating in training, supervision, and ongoing professional development
