We’re currently recruiting for experienced Educational Psychologists to support Surrey County Council across North West Surrey, South West Surrey, North East Surrey and South East Surrey.

This flexible opportunity is ideal for Educational Psychologists looking to undertake additional assessment work alongside their existing commitments. The role is structured around 2-day assessment blocks, with the opportunity to complete as many blocks throughout the month as your availability and preference allows.

As an Educational Psychologist, you will work with children and young people aged 0–25, families, schools, colleges, early years settings and other professionals to understand and support learning, development, emotional wellbeing and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will undertake psychological assessments and provide clear, evidence-based psychological advice and recommendations to support children and young people across Surrey.

Key Responsibilities:

β€’ Undertake psychological assessments of children and young people experiencing learning, developmental, behavioural, social or emotional difficulties
β€’ Provide high-quality psychological advice and recommendations for Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessments and Annual Reviews
β€’ Conduct consultations with children, young people, parents, carers, schools and other professionals
β€’ Identify strengths, needs and appropriate evidence-based interventions
β€’ Provide recommendations to support learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and inclusion
β€’ Support schools and educational settings to develop effective strategies for pupils with SEND
β€’ Work collaboratively with education, health, social care and other multi-agency professionals
β€’ Produce clear, accurate and professional psychological reports and documentation
β€’ Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion throughout professional practice

Requirements:

β€’ Doctorate in Educational Psychology or recognised equivalent
β€’ Registration with HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
β€’ Eligibility to work as an Educational Psychologist in the UK
β€’ Proven experience undertaking psychological assessments and producing high-quality reports
β€’ Strong knowledge of child development, learning, cognition and psychological assessment
β€’ Knowledge and understanding of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice
β€’ Experience working with schools, families and multi-agency professionals
β€’ Enhanced DBS required
