About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Assistant – Admin & Clerical position with West Lancashire Borough Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and supportive team, delivering high-quality customer service within a local authority setting.

This is a full-time, office-based role (36 hours per week) located in Ormskirk, requiring attendance five days per week. The available shift patterns are:
β€’ 9:00am – 5:00pm
β€’ 8:30am – 4:30pm
β€’ 9:30am – 5:30pm

You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations, acting as a first point of contact for customers and ensuring efficient administrative support across departments.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Handle inbound and outbound enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
β€’ Provide accurate information and resolve customer queries in a professional and timely manner
β€’ Process administrative tasks including data entry, document management, and record keeping
β€’ Support various departments with clerical duties and general office administration
β€’ Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
β€’ Work collaboratively within a team to deliver excellent customer service

Requirements:
β€’ Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role
β€’ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
β€’ Good organisational skills and attention to detail
β€’ Ability to manage workload effectively in a busy environment
β€’ Competent IT skills including use of Microsoft Office systems
