About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Children Residential Support Worker to join a residential children’s home in London. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by providing high-quality care and support within a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.

You will play a key role in promoting the welfare, independence, and personal development of young people, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of care. The service operates a flexible rota including day shifts, waking night shifts, and sleep-in shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times.
• Provide specialised personal care while respecting dignity, privacy, independence, and choice.
• Support young people in developing life skills and independence, including cooking and daily living activities.
• Accompany young people on recreational and social activities and act as a positive role model.
• Assist in planning and delivering evening and weekend activities.
• Support the emotional, social, and behavioural development of young people.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, families, education providers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Support behaviour management strategies and manage challenging behaviours appropriately.
• Assist with healthcare appointments and ensure medical needs are met.
• Participate in team meetings, reviews, and training as required.
• Work flexibly across a rota that includes evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and waking nights.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working within Children’s Residential Services.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working shifts.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
