About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Children Residential Support Worker to join a residential children’s home in London. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by providing high-quality care and support within a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
You will play a key role in promoting the welfare, independence, and personal development of young people, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of care. The service operates a flexible rota including day shifts, waking night shifts, and sleep-in shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times.
β’ Provide specialised personal care while respecting dignity, privacy, independence, and choice.
β’ Support young people in developing life skills and independence, including cooking and daily living activities.
β’ Accompany young people on recreational and social activities and act as a positive role model.
β’ Assist in planning and delivering evening and weekend activities.
β’ Support the emotional, social, and behavioural development of young people.
β’ Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
β’ Work collaboratively with social workers, families, education providers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
β’ Support behaviour management strategies and manage challenging behaviours appropriately.
β’ Assist with healthcare appointments and ensure medical needs are met.
β’ Participate in team meetings, reviews, and training as required.
β’ Work flexibly across a rota that includes evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and waking nights.
Requirements:
β’ Previous experience working within Children’s Residential Services.
β’ Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
β’ Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
β’ Flexible approach to working shifts.
β’ Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
