About the Role:
On behalf of Gloucestershire County Council, we are recruiting for a Deputy Team Manager to join the Disabled Children’s Service (Front Door) on a permanent basis.
The Disabled Children and Young People’s Early Help Team supports children and young people aged 0–18 with significant needs arising from disability. The team ensures families have access to a needs-led service that promotes resilience, co-production, and improved life chances. Working collaboratively with partner agencies, the service delivers robust assessments and outcome-focused plans to ensure children and families receive appropriate and timely support.
As Deputy Team Manager, you will provide oversight of children’s planning from the point of referral. This includes ensuring advice, guidance, and support are offered at the earliest opportunity, signing off and agreeing EHCP contributions, and making decisions to complete single assessments in line with eligibility criteria. You will also supervise and support staff within the Front Door service while undertaking statutory social work responsibilities as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide management oversight from referral through to assessment and planning
• Offer early advice, guidance, and support to children and families
• Review and sign off EHCP contributions
• Make decisions regarding single assessments in line with eligibility criteria
• Supervise and support social work staff within the team
• Undertake statutory social work duties as required
Requirements:
• Social Work England registration
• Completed ASYE (if qualified after 2012)
• Completion of Senior Social Worker progression pathway
• Minimum 2 years’ UK-based statutory social work experience
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
• Enhanced DBS (Adults & Children’s) clearance
Skilled Worker Applications:

• Are seeking to move Certificate of Sponsorship and relocate to Gloucestershire
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ UK statutory service experience
