Job Profile: 

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Detached Youth Outreach Workers to join our team. If you are you passionate about improving the lives of young people and you have the confidence and enthusiasm to engage with young people in the community, we are looking for Detached Youth Outreach Youth Workers, who have the natural ability to build positive rapport with young people in the community. The role will include signposting young people to positive youth activities, delivering workshops in schools & in the community, reducing community tensions through detached youth work. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering group work programmes, deploying youth outreach initiatives, and have strong community engagement skills. This role requires a proactive approach to engaging with young people in their own environments, building trust, and providing support tailored to their needs.

Responsibilities will include planning, deliver, and evaluate group work programmes. Completing detached youth outreach sessions. Building and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and community stakeholders. Identify and respond to the needs of young people, providing appropriate support and referrals.

You will need to have proven experience in youth work, particularly in detached or outreach settings. A good understanding of the issues affecting young people and the ability to engage them effectively. Great communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work during the day, evenings and weekends as required as working hours are Monday-Saturday between 12.00pm – 9.00 pm – at various locations across the Borough.
