About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected local authority in Glamorgan, for an experienced TAF Worker to join the Families First Service within Social Services – Children & Young People’s Service.
This is a full-time temporary contract for an initial 4.5 months, with potential for extension. You will work directly with children, young people, and their families/carers to ensure they receive coordinated, high-quality, and effective support tailored to their needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality support to children, young people, parents, and carers referred to the Families First TAF Service
• Work collaboratively with families and multi-agency professionals
• Positively represent and promote the TAF Service across partner organisations
• Undertake assessments of need and risk to inform support planning
• Facilitate and chair multi-agency TAF meetings and reviews
• Implement and monitor support plans in line with service standards
• Carry out direct work with children and families under supervision
• Use motivational techniques to strengthen engagement and family relationships
• Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with policy
• Maintain accurate electronic case records and produce required reports
• Participate in supervision, appraisal, and professional development
• Contribute to service improvement activities and annual service plans

Requirements:
• Experience in family support, children’s services, or social care
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and early help frameworks
• Skilled in caseload management and accurate record-keeping
• Confident in multi-agency communication and meeting facilitation
• Knowledge of Families First/TAF and Welsh guidance is desirable
