Rate: £38 per hour

Overview:
This role is part of Northamptonshire Children’s Trust Safeguarding Services. The postholder will manage cases transferred from the DAAT (Drug and Alcohol Action Team) following the Initial Child Protection Conference or the First Child in Need meeting. The cases are managed until closure, but if they escalate to court proceedings or long-term care, they will be transferred to the Children in Care Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Case Management: Take over cases from the DAAT, conduct assessments, and manage complex cases through to closure, ensuring compliance with legal and safeguarding requirements.
• Office Attendance: Required to be in the office up to 5 days a week to meet service needs.
• Safeguarding: Work directly with families to safeguard children, ensuring their protection and wellbeing in line with statutory obligations.
• Court and Legal Processes: If cases escalate to court, the social worker will be expected to provide evidence and participate in proceedings.

Essential Requirements:

• Must be able to hit the ground running and manage complex cases from the outset.
• Be available for in-office work up to 5 days a week.
