Pay Rate: £38 per hour (Umbrella)

Job Information:
Milton Keynes City Council is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Social Worker to join our Contextual Safeguarding Team within the Family Support Service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with young people at risk of exploitation, knife crime, and serious violence.

As a case-holding Social Worker, you’ll provide intensive support to young people and help guide them through the challenges they face in their communities. You will be encouraged to think creatively and work outside the box in order to deliver tailored, effective interventions.

The Contextual Safeguarding Team is dedicated to innovative, young person-led practice, with both qualified and ‘differently qualified’ staff offering support. You will focus on contextual safeguarding, a forward-thinking approach that addresses the external factors influencing young people outside the home environment.

We’re looking for individuals who have a passion for working with young people, are eager to develop professionally, and thrive in an environment that values fresh ideas and a collaborative team approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with young people at risk of exploitation, violence, and criminal activity.
• Deliver tailored and creative interventions to support young people and their families.
• Collaborate with multi-agency teams to ensure the safety and well-being of young people.
• Use your knowledge and skills in social work to identify and address the external influences that impact the lives of young people.
• Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and training opportunities.

Skills and Experience Required:

• A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Experience in working with young people, preferably in safeguarding or contextual safeguarding settings.
• Ability to think creatively and adapt to the needs of the young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to continuous professional development.
