Social Care Assessment Officer in Newcastle

Supply Care Solutions are looking for a Social Care Assessment Officer in Newcastle.

This role will be in the Care Finders team with is a type of brokerage team.
Full and part time hours considered.

SALARY: up to £17.00 ph (umbrella)
TYPE: LOCUM
HOURS: This is a Full time role (37 hours per week) / Full and part time hours considered.

Essential experience needed for the role of Social Care Assessment Officer.

• Able to work constructively with colleagues and other professionals
• IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and Excel, including experience of entering and extracting information from databases
• Able to extract, assimilate, evaluate and prioritise information from a variety of sources, dealing with sensitive information appropriately
• Understanding of the Care Act and Adult Social Care processes including: support planning, safeguarding
• Experience and responsibility for the purchasing, arranging or managing of services within a contract or procurement framework
• Able to prioritise work, schedule and organise own time
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Able to handle problems and difficult situations calmly and sensitively
• Willingness to undertake further training as required
• Positive approach to self- development
• Good negotiation skills
• Experience of working with adults 18+
• Experience of working with service users, carers and other professionals in a health or social care related field

• Reliable and self-reliant, but will seek guidance appropriately
• Ability to cope with change
• Ability to manage work to tight timescales whilst being detail conscious
• Knowledge and understanding of the Council’s Equality Policy, applying this in the workplace and the effect on delivery of services to customers
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
