About the Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Separated Children & Young People Service.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable separated children and young people, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and positive long-term outcomes. You will work within a supportive team, delivering high-quality social work practice while safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide a high-quality Social Work service to separated children and young people
• Promote safeguarding, welfare, and positive outcomes for children and young people
• Build effective working relationships with colleagues, partner agencies, and other professionals
• Undertake assessments in accordance with the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families
• Complete regular reviews of care plans, evaluating progress and recording outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely, and up-to-date case records in line with Directorate policies and procedures
• Prepare comprehensive reports for statutory reviews, child protection conferences, panels, and court proceedings
• Fulfil all statutory duties relating to allocated cases
• Work in accordance with Social Work England standards and the Professional Capabilities Framework
• Participate in supervision, performance management, and professional development activities

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
• Experience working with children and young people within Children’s Services
• Strong assessment, report writing, and case management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively

Desirable:
• Experience undertaking Age Assessments
