Job Description:

This Senior Social Worker post is in the Duty part of the team. This role will cover the period of permanent recruitment to the same post. You will work alongside the Assistant Team Manager and Duty Supervisor to screen contacts in the Duty Tray prioritise, determine next steps and allocate to staff to action. You will also carry a small caseload of complex cases and action other cases on Duty such as Safeguarding, Assessments of need or Mental Capacity Assessments.

You will:

• Take professional responsibility for managing a complex caseload.
• Demonstrate confident and effective judgement about risk and accountability in
• decision-making.
• Use professional judgement, employing a range of interventions: promoting
• independence, providing support and protection, taking preventative action and
• ensuring safety whilst balancing rights and risks.
• Take professional and personal responsibility for clear recording of analysis and judgements.
• For this role you will need – Substantial post-qualification professional experience as a Social Worker
• An applied knowledge of The Care Act and The Mental Capacity Act and experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries
• Experience of working in complex situations using professional judgement and a range of interventions
• As a Senior Social Worker in Mid Surrey, you will have strong experience in assessing social care needs and provide direct social work intervention to some of the most
• challenging and complex service users and their carers.
• You will provide effective support to individuals using a strength-based approach to enable individuals to live as independently as possible with more choice and control
