About the Role:

Supply Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client in the Isle of Wight for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Fostering Team on an initial 6-month locum contract, with a strong possibility of extension.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive fostering service and make a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people, foster carers, and families. The role offers hybrid working, while maintaining a strong focus on relationship-based practice through face-to-face assessments and foster carer supervision where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake a range of fostering assessments, including Risk Assessments, Adult Assessments, and Children’s Assessments
• Provide face-to-face and verbal supervision to foster carers in line with local authority requirements
• Support the Marketing & Recruitment Officer with the recruitment of foster carers and attendance at promotional events
• Deliver training sessions covering foster care practice, foster carer development, child development, and relevant legislation
• Arrange and facilitate support groups for foster carers and other stakeholders
• Undertake statutory work relating to both children and adults
• Manage safeguarding concerns, assess risk, and implement appropriate interventions
• Deliver planned interventions using a range of evidence-based social work methodologies
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and reports

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker
• Social Work England registered
• Previous fostering experience
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and risk assessment processes
• Experience supervising and supporting foster carers
• Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
