About the Role:
Our client in Barnet is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker / Advanced Practitioner to join their Intervention & Planning (Long-Term) Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and skilled practitioner with strong experience in long-term statutory children’s social care, including Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and care proceedings.

You will play a key role in supporting children and families through complex cases, ensuring high-quality planning and decision-making, and providing guidance to less experienced social workers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake complex Child in Need and Child Protection work
• Manage care proceedings and court work, including report writing and giving evidence
• Carry out direct work with children and families to reduce risk and achieve sustainable outcomes
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver coordinated support
• Support and model good practice for less experienced social workers
• Demonstrate sound professional judgement and manage risk confidently

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience (PQE)
• At least 3 years’ permanent experience within an English local authority
• Proven experience in long-term CIN, CP, and court work
• Confidence managing complex cases and working with high levels of risk
