About the Role:
We’re excited to be recruiting on behalf of Rochdale Council for a Senior Finance Officer – Systems. This role is ideal for a finance professional who wants to contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of financial systems within a progressive public sector environment.

As part of the Corporate Finance team, you will support the development, configuration, and improvement of finance systems and ensure the council’s statutory functions are underpinned by robust data and automated processes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the development, testing, and delivery of finance system processes
• Maximise automation and streamline workflows across core finance functions
• Deliver training and system support to Finance and other directorates
• Create reliable, user-friendly business reporting tools
• Own and improve the configuration and performance of the Council’s Finance System
• Ensure accurate ledger reconciliation to support budget setting, monitoring, and final accounts

Requirements:
• Previous experience in public sector finance systems or similar environment
• Strong knowledge of financial processes, reconciliations, and system configuration
• Ability to support users and teams through training and documentation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative finance setting
