🚗 Mileage: Work-related mileage paid at 45p per mile

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of Walsall Council for a dedicated Rough Sleeper Support Worker to support vulnerable adults, individuals experiencing homelessness, former rough sleepers, offenders, and people with complex needs who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting individuals to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to achieve and maintain independent living. You will play a key role in reducing repeat homelessness and rough sleeping while helping service users achieve sustainable housing outcomes.

The role is based on-site five days per week due to service demands and requires a flexible approach, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekend working where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
• Provide practical support to help service users develop independence and essential life skills.
• Develop and maintain effective support plans focused on sustainable housing outcomes.
• Build positive and professional relationships with service users.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies.
• Support individuals with complex needs and challenging circumstances.
• Contribute to preventing repeat homelessness and rough sleeping.
• Monitor and review support plans to ensure they continue to meet individual needs.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with service requirements.
• Adapt working hours where required to meet the needs of the service.

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
• Experience supporting vulnerable adults or individuals with complex needs.
• Experience working with homeless individuals or people at risk of homelessness is desirable.
• Strong communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build effective and professional relationships with service users.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team.
• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
