About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a Children’s Home in Middlesbrough. You will be part of a supportive and skilled team providing high-quality care to children and young people who are currently unable to live with their families. Many of the young people you’ll support may present with emotional, behavioural, or additional needs, requiring patience, empathy, and consistency.

You will use therapeutic approaches and restorative practices to create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where children can develop resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people
• Support young people in developing life skills and positive routines
• Promote a safe and stable living environment
• Work collaboratively within a team using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
• Maintain accurate records and follow care plans

Requirements:
• Experience working with children and young people in a residential or similar setting
• Understanding of child development and managing challenging behaviour
• A caring and positive attitude with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
• Ability to work flexibly as part of a rota, including evenings and weekends
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
