🕒 Job Type: Locum – Full Time, Shift-Based (Early Mornings, Waking Nights, Sleep-Ins)

About the Role:
We’re looking for dedicated Residential Childcare Workers to support children and young people living in residential care settings across Derby City. You’ll work in 2–3 children’s homes with 5–6 bedrooms, supporting young people aged 10–18 years, with one home providing specialist disability support for ages 5–18.

Your role is central to creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children and young people can recover from experiences such as abuse, neglect, family breakdown, or behavioural and emotional difficulties. You’ll help them build positive futures through consistent, caring, and professional support.

Key Responsibilities:
• Providing high-quality care across shifts, including early mornings, waking nights, and sleep-ins.
• Supporting children with personal care, family contact, behaviour management, general support work, and administering medication.
• Adapting support according to individual needs, with full training provided where needed.
• Working in partnership with colleagues to maintain a safe, structured, and child-centred environment.
• Promoting the well-being, independence, and development of every young person in your care.

Requirements:

• ✅ Ability to manage challenging behaviours and provide consistent, nurturing care.
