About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Resident Liaison Officer to join Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP), a high-performing, not-for-profit housing organisation managing over 6,000 council homes and 1,500 leasehold properties in Sutton.
SHP has been recognised for outstanding tenant satisfaction, achieving Customer Service Excellence & DAHA accreditation, and leading community-focused transformation projects such as retrofit programmes.
In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for residents affected by major works, ensuring they are fully informed, consulted, and supported throughout capital investment projects.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Provide advice, information, and support to tenants and leaseholders during major works
β’ Liaise with contractors, consultants, and SHP staff to coordinate resident engagement
β’ Develop and manage resident consultation plans for capital projects
β’ Oversee the creation and delivery of resident information packs, updates, and newsletters
β’ Coordinate temporary or permanent re-housing where necessary
β’ Advise on the impact of capital works and service charge obligations for leaseholders
β’ Resolve disputes, gain access to properties, and manage claims effectively
β’ Arrange and attend resident meetings, exhibitions, and presentations (including evenings)
β’ Identify and make provisions for vulnerable residentsβ needs
β’ Monitor and improve consultation and communication processes
β’ Conduct resident satisfaction surveys and analyse feedback to inform service improvements
Requirements:
β’ Proven experience as a Resident Liaison Officer or similar role
β’ Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
β’ Ability to work with contractors, residents, and multiple stakeholders
β’ Understanding of housing sector processes and capital works programmes
β’ Flexibility to work occasional evenings and attend meetings across the borough
