About the Role:
Are you passionate about helping people rebuild their lives and achieve lasting recovery? Weβre recruiting on behalf of our client in Durham for an experienced Recovery Coordinator to join their dedicated substance misuse team β supporting individuals throughout their journey to recovery from drugs and alcohol. This temporary full-time position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference within a compassionate, multi-disciplinary service.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Manage a caseload of service users, developing, reviewing, and implementing tailored recovery plans.
β’ Carry out comprehensive assessments and risk management plans, ensuring safe and effective support delivery.
β’ Deliver 1:1 psychosocial interventions and structured treatment sessions (MI, CBT, PSI, ITEP).
β’ Collaborate with partner agencies, healthcare providers, and family members to ensure holistic support.
β’ Facilitate access to treatment, harm reduction, and community recovery resources.
β’ Support safeguarding processes, identifying and responding to risks in line with local and national procedures.
β’ Participate in drug screening, BBV testing, needle exchange, and harm reduction services.
β’ Promote visible recovery and peer support opportunities within the service.
β’ Maintain accurate, timely case notes using online case management systems.
Requirements:
β’ Strong engagement and communication skills to support clients in addressing substance use while maintaining professional boundaries.
β’ Proven experience working with people affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse, understanding their complex needs (physical, psychological, and social).
β’ Knowledge of recovery models, safeguarding procedures, and risk management frameworks.
β’ Competence in delivering structured psychosocial interventions (MI, CBT, PSI, ITEP).
β’ Confident managing a busy caseload, maintaining up-to-date records and reports.
β’ IT literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and case management systems.
