About the Role:
Halton Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Duty and Assessment Team. This is a challenging and rewarding frontline role offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families within the local community. You will be part of a supportive and professional team environment, working to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake initial assessments and respond promptly to referrals, assessing risk and need
• Manage a varied caseload of children and families requiring support and intervention
• Carry out home visits and build effective, professional relationships with families
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children
• Produce high-quality assessments and reports for management and court purposes
• Implement timely and appropriate interventions to achieve effective outcomes
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Degree or Diploma in Social Work
• Registered with Social Work England
• Minimum of three years’ permanent post-qualification experience
• Proven experience within a Duty and Assessment team or similar frontline setting
• Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation
• Ability to manage complex caseloads while maintaining high standards of practice
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Access to a car for work purposes
