About the Role:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker – Adults Safeguarding to join the Safeguarding Adults Team at Halton Council.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Social Worker to support adults who may be experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation or other forms of harm, while working within a supportive statutory safeguarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake adult safeguarding enquiries and assessments in line with relevant legislation and procedures.
• Complete proportionate risk assessments and develop safeguarding and risk management plans.
• Undertake duty work, responding to safeguarding concerns, referrals and urgent requests.
• Assess the needs, strengths and desired outcomes of adults and their carers.
• Respond to concerns including abuse, neglect, self-neglect, domestic abuse, financial abuse, organisational abuse and exploitation.
• Work collaboratively with adults, families, carers and partner agencies.
• Make professional decisions regarding risk, capacity, safeguarding and proportionality.
• Apply the principles of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant guidance.
• Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality assessments and reports.

Requirements:

• Recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
• Experience working with adults within a social care, safeguarding or statutory setting.
• Strong knowledge of adult safeguarding, risk assessment and risk management.
• Experience managing complex or high-risk situations.
• Good working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Strong communication, recording and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with adults, families, carers and multi-agency partners.
