: £48 per hour
Contract:
Full-time, 37 hours per week
Accommodation:
£30 per day for accommodation allowance (3 days per week, with evidence of accommodation provided)

Main Purpose of the Role:

As a Qualified and Experienced Children’s Social Worker, you will be an integral part of the Children and Families First teams, providing high-quality support and protective intervention for children and young people and their families. You will manage a caseload focused on Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) cases, ensuring their safety and wellbeing while promoting positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welfare and Safeguarding: Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people by delivering effective interventions.
  • Caseload Management: Manage a caseload of children and families, acting as case coordinator and lead professional to deliver outcome-focused plans in line with statutory responsibilities and local quality standards.
  • Assessment and Planning: Undertake assessments of need and risk, working closely with families and professionals to create and implement appropriate intervention plans.
  • Partnership Working: Collaborate with other services and agencies to ensure children and families receive the necessary support and services.
  • Professional Development: Maintain Social Work England professional standards through continuous development and reflective practice.

Main Duties:

  1. Assessments and Analysis: Undertake timely and effective assessments of children, young people, and families, identifying needs and risks to develop comprehensive intervention plans.
  2. Support and Advocacy: Ensure children, young people, and carers are informed of their rights and actively participate in planning and decision-making processes.
  3. Intervention: Provide evidence-based support and interventions tailored to the specific needs of children and families.
  4. Case Coordination: Lead professional meetings, such as Child in Need and core group meetings, to ensure holistic case management.
  5. Supervision and Development: Participate in regular supervision to enhance practice and personal resilience; contribute to the training and development of others.
  6. Case Record Maintenance: Ensure case records are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements and borough policies.
  7. Professional Knowledge: Stay updated with relevant research, government guidance, and legislation in child care and social work practices.
  8. Service Development: Contribute to the improvement of children’s services, including taking part in specific development projects and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years Post-Qualification (PQ) experience in a similar children’s social work role.
  • Strong experience in managing a caseload within CIN, CP, and LAC.
  • Ability to work independently, manage complex cases, and make informed professional decisions.
  • Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week in the BCP area.
  • Own method of transport is required.
