Salary: £39,774-£42,684 + £3,000 Recruitment and Retention.
This council has an ‘Outstanding’ (OFSTED 2019) Children & Families Service. Joining the Community Social Work (CSW) and Family Intervention Team (FIT) will give you the opportunity to play a crucial role in delivering SMART meaningful interventions to children, young people and their families, whilst working alongside qualified social workers and supportive managers.
Right now, a brilliant opportunity has arisen within the Family Intervention Team (FIT) for a bright, enthusiastic and tenacious social worker who is committed to making a positive contribution to vulnerable young people. The service is striving to work innovatively with hard to reach, vulnerable young people who are exposed to Gang affiliation/knife crime Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) as well as those young people who are missing frequently. We are driving the contextualised safeguarding approach in our work with young people so that we can understand the complexity of the difficulties that young people are faced with in their communities
This role would suit an aspiring, dynamic, committed and enthusiastic social worker who is looking to step up into a senior role. Your role will entail working 1:1 with young people and their families in understanding their difficulties whilst implementing bespoke intervention alongside our commissioned services, to make positive changes in a child’s life. You will be part of a supportive team consisting of experienced social workers, family intervention workers, a family support worker as well as have access to specialist agencies who are committed to supporting young people at risk of exploitation, gang affiliation and low-level criminality. This progressive family intervention model will enable the successful applicant the autonomy to work holistically with families and young people using innovative methods to meet the councils vision of improving the lives and outcomes for young people and the wider community.
Qualified Social Worker Requirements
– CSW/CQSW/DipSW/BA/MA in Social Work
– Current Social Worker England registration
– Current Enhanced DBS Disclosure
– Eligibility to work in the UK without work permit or visa restrictions
– Commitment to the safe care and well-being of vulnerable people
