SALARY: £32,787 to £44,826 Per Annum
TYPE: PERMANENT
TEAM: Children Assessment
HOURS: Full time (Monday to Friday)
OTHER: £8,000 relocation package, subject to terms and conditions.
Job Description:
Children in Care teams work with children and young people up to the age of 18 who are in care – those who are either placed with foster carers or who live in residential homes. They work with the children and young people to ensure their experiences in care are good, and that they are prepared when leaving care or returning home to their family. The Children in Care Team also work with children and families within the court arena. The CIC teams receive cases in proceedings after the first hearing, they visit children and young people in placement, develop permanency plans which include Special Guardianship Order (SGO) and adoption.
Managing a defined caseload, the Social Worker is responsible for working effectively with children, young people & families/carers to achieve positive change and improved outcomes. This includes enquiry, assessment, purposeful intervention through direct work and review in relation to Child Protection, Child in Need and Children Looked After, achieving permanency through adoption, Special Guardianship and long term care for Children in Care.
Qualified Social Worker Requirements
– CSW/CQSW/DipSW/BA/MA in Social Work and relevant proven experience
– Current Social Worker England registration
– Current Enhanced DBS Disclosure
– Eligibility to work in the UK without work permit or visa restrictions
– Commitment to the safe care and well-being of vulnerable people
