About the Role:
Supply Care Solutions is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Children & Families Social Worker to join Essex County Council’s Assessment & Intervention Team.

About the Team – Assessment & Intervention (A&I):
The A&I teams act as the first point of contact for children, young people, parents/carers, and agencies seeking support from Children & Families services. Their work involves:
• Undertaking initial assessments and short-term interventions (up to 3 months)
• Managing cases involving Child in Need (CIN) and Section 47 child protection enquiries
• Joint working with police and partners to assess immediate risks
• Transferring longer-term cases to Family Support & Protection teams
• Stepping down cases to Family Solutions (Early Help) where appropriate

You will manage a defined caseload and deliver purposeful, high-quality social work that drives positive change and sustainable outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage caseloads involving CIN, CP, CLA, and care proceedings
• Conduct assessments, implement care plans, and deliver interventions
• Work collaboratively with children, families, and partner professionals
• Apply evidence-based practice and maintain accurate case records
• Ensure compliance with legal frameworks, policies, and local procedures

Requirements:
• Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma/CQSW/CSS)
• Current registration with Social Work England
• Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience in Children’s Services
• Strong understanding of the PCF (Professional Capabilities Framework) and KSS (Knowledge and Skills Statement)
• Skilled in risk assessment, safeguarding, and direct work with children and families
• IT proficient (case management systems & Microsoft Office)
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or alternative mobility)
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (must be registered on the Update Service)
• Flexibility to attend both office and field-based work (not suitable for remote-only working)
