Job Summary:

1# Rehousing Officer:
The Refugee Housing Officers will carry out timely assessments to determine needs and support homeless refugees into permanent or temporary accommodation.

You will be required to have:
Evidence of and commitment to continuous professional development
Substantial experience of interviewing and negotiation skills including direct experience of working to prevent homelessness
Experience in working with vulnerable client groups
An informed knowledge of the range of issues affecting new and existing refugee service users in Liverpool.
Knowledge of Landlord and Tenant, Immigration, Welfare Benefits and relevant Social Services legislation.
Knowledge of the social and financial costs of homelessness to individuals, the local authority and other relevant bodies.
Experience of utilising case management systems.

This is an agile post with a expectation to be in the office 3 days a week.

2# Refugee Settlement Team leader:
The Refugee Resettlement Housing Team Leader will lead on Councils Refugee Housing Service, co-ordinating work streams and providing line management support for 4 Housing Officers, ensuring a high-quality rehousing and homelessness service for refugees, with pathways into and out of the service in a timely manner.

This is a hybrid role with the expectation of 3 days in the office.

You will be required to have:
– Qualifications equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
– Substantial experience of interviewing and negotiation skills including direct experience of working to prevent homelessness
– Knowledge of the causes and impact of homelessness, prevention techniques and strategies.
– Knowledge of Immigration, Homelessness and relevant Social Services legislation.
– An informed knowledge of the range of issues affecting new and existing refugee and migrant service users in the area
