About the Role:
Supply Care Solutions is currently recruiting for an experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on behalf of Coventry City Council, based at Council House, Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Children’s Services Safeguarding & Risk Management team in a pivotal leadership role.

The postholder will act as the Designated Officer (LADO), leading on all matters relating to allegations made against professionals in positions of trust who work (paid or voluntary) with children. You will ensure statutory safeguarding responsibilities are met by managing allegations effectively while maintaining the safety and welfare of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead on the management of allegations against professionals working with children
• Provide expert safeguarding advice to employers, agencies and voluntary organisations
• Ensure compliance with local and national safeguarding procedures
• Deliver and contribute to safeguarding and allegations management training
• Maintain robust systems for tracking and managing allegations
• Contribute to quality assurance, performance reporting and strategic safeguarding analysis
• Support oversight of historical allegations and wider risk management activity
• Develop strong partnerships across statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations
• Work closely with HR professionals to ensure safe recruitment practices
• Participate in safeguarding networks and contribute to service improvement initiatives
• Support the Risk Management Team with collaborative safeguarding training programmes

Requirements:
• Extensive experience within safeguarding and children’s services
• Strong knowledge of statutory guidance relating to allegations management
• Experience advising senior managers and multi-agency partners
• Ability to analyse performance data and contribute to strategic reporting
• Experience delivering safeguarding training and promoting best practice
• Strong partnership and stakeholder management skills
