About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for an Interim Team Manager to join Durham County Council’s Fostering South Team. This 1-year assignment provides interim cover while the substantive post holder is on secondment.

The Team Manager will be responsible for leading a team of fostering social workers, with support from a Social Work Consultant (Deputy Manager equivalent). The team is accountable for ensuring regulatory compliance of mainstream foster carers across the South of the County.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide oversight of statutory requirements for the fostering service
• Ensure high-quality service delivery and improved outcomes
• Maintain and enhance performance standards
• Lead and support team development and compliance
• Contribute to quality assurance processes and service improvement

⚠️ Please note: This position cannot be performed fully remotely. Candidates must be able to work in a hybrid capacity, with regular office presence required at Seaham.

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
• Significant management or leadership experience within Children’s Social Care, ideally fostering
• Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory frameworks in fostering services
• Ability to lead, support, and develop a high-performing team
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (must be registered on the Update Service)
