About the Role:
Are you a passionate and experienced social work practitioner committed to safeguarding children and improving outcomes? Stockton Council is offering a unique opportunity for a temporary Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), with the option to also take on the role of Child Protection Conference Chair. You’ll be joining a well-established and supportive Review Unit that champions innovation, creativity, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee care planning and review processes for children in the council’s care
• Chair Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences
• Ensure all care and protection plans are child-focused, legally compliant, and meet individual needs
• Collaborate with multi-agency professionals to enhance children’s lived experiences

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
• Extensive experience in child protection and care planning
• Strong communication and multi-agency working skills
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
