💰 Rate/Salary: £42 – £45 per hour (Umbrella)

About the Role:
We are working with Suffolk County Council to recruit an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer / Child Protection Conference Chair to join their safeguarding service.

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of safeguarding services for children in care and those subject to child protection plans across Suffolk. You will play a key role in embedding the Signs of Safety and Wellbeing Practice Framework, supporting continued improvements in practice development, family engagement, and staff morale.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality safeguarding services for children in care and those on child protection plans
• Provide strategic leadership and collaborate closely with operational management teams
• Offer robust scrutiny and oversight of care and child protection plans
• Produce reports and provide analysis to senior management on safeguarding performance
• Ensure compliance with statutory standards and operational requirements
• Act as a Regulation 44 Visitor to children’s homes, including monthly safeguarding reports
• Chair reviews, conferences, and meetings across multiple locations within Suffolk

Requirements:
• Recognised Social Work qualification
• Registration with Social Work England
• Significant experience working with children in care and child protection services
• Experience at senior practitioner or management level
• Strong knowledge of current legislation, policy, and safeguarding frameworks
• Ability to travel across the county and attend in-person meetings
