💰 Rate/Salary: Up to £550 per day (Umbrella)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Service to join our client’s Internal Residential Services in the North East. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Social Care Qualified professional to make a real impact on the lives of children and young people.

This short-term 3-month role (with potential to extend) comes at a critical time, requiring a highly skilled leader to continue developing and strengthening internal resources. The primary focus will be ensuring that services are fit for purpose and can accommodate children and young people, reducing reliance on out-of-area external placements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage Internal Residential Services and Supported Accommodation provision
• Ensure high-quality care and safeguarding practices for children and young people
• Oversee strategic service development, ensuring resources meet current and future needs
• Drive improvements to reduce external placements and support local provision
• Provide strong leadership, guidance, and direction to service managers and staff
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes

Requirements:
• Social Care Qualified professional with significant senior leadership experience
• Proven track record of leading and developing residential children’s services
• Strong strategic thinking and service improvement skills
• Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, care standards, and regulatory frameworks
• Ability to deliver positive change and ensure high-quality outcomes for young people
