💰 Rate/Salary: £46 per hour

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Adult Social Worker to join Liverpool City Council’s Adult Social Care service. The role focuses on safeguarding, support,  planning, and promoting the wellbeing of adults with care and support needs. You will play a key part in improving outcomes through assessment, planning, and delivery of care.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision
• Undertake assessments and prepare reports and legal documents for court
• Make complex decisions using evidence-based tools, professional judgement, and critical reflection
• Communicate effectively in high-risk and sensitive situations
• Lead and participate in multi-disciplinary forums and safeguarding enquiries
• Co-design support plans in collaboration with individuals, carers, and partner agencies
• Monitor, review, and coordinate services within available resources
• Work closely with health professionals and external partners in an integrated approach
• Undertake Mental Capacity and Best Interests assessments
• Lead safeguarding enquiries in line with inter-agency policies and statutory guidance
• Support and mentor students (if a Practice Educator)
• Undertake AMHP duties (if applicable), including Out of Hours rota participation

Requirements
• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Proven experience in adult social care and assessment work
• Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks
• Experience managing complex cases and working in multi-agency settings
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills
