Salary: £36 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Hybrid Working: 3 days in the office per week

Overview:
Northamptonshire’s Children’s Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Agency Decision Maker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. This pivotal role requires a skilled professional who can make informed decisions, provide direction to MASH Officers, and collaborate effectively with other agencies to protect children and support families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Triaging Referrals: Assess incoming referrals to determine whether the family requires early help or meets the threshold for statutory child protection.
• MASH Enquiries: Engage with parents and agencies to gather relevant information, assess risks, and provide timely recommendations.
• Threshold Recommendations: Make critical decisions on whether cases should proceed to an assessment, ensuring appropriate action is taken to protect children and support families.
• Direction and Support: Provide guidance and direction to MASH Officers (call handlers), ensuring efficient handling of cases and clear communication within the team.
• No Home Visits: This role focuses on office-based, static work with no home visits required.

What We’re Looking For:

• A solid understanding of child protection and children’s social care.
• Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to think on your feet.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal and external agencies.
• Ability to manage a caseload and make timely decisions that ensure child safety and well-being.
• Experience in a similar role or environment, ideally within safeguarding and statutory services.
