About the Role:
Suffolk County Council is recruiting six experienced Consultant Social Workers to join their MASH service, supporting the development of the IFD Assessment Team in line with the Family First Partnership Programme model. This role focuses on ensuring families receive timely, early support to prevent escalation into statutory services and reduce pressure on high caseload teams. The position offers a hybrid working model with 3 days office-based and 2 days remote, alongside flexibility for a 30-hour week across 4 days if preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
• Build effective relationships with children, young people, families, and professionals
• Work directly with families using the Signs of Safety and Wellbeing framework
• Act as Lead Professional where required
• Apply Signs of Safety principles, tools, and disciplines in practice
• Contribute to CAF, multi-agency, and statutory assessments
• Provide management oversight where required
• Support families with emerging needs to achieve sustainable outcomes
• Undertake direct observations of practice and provide feedback
• Deliver evidence-based interventions
• Support colleagues through mentoring, supervision, and consultation
• Contribute to quality assurance and continuous service improvement
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and produce reports
• Analyse data to support service delivery and planning
• Provide guidance and signposting to families and professionals
• Build strong multi-agency partnerships and represent the service at meetings
• Identify and manage safeguarding concerns and escalate risks appropriately
• Work in line with statutory responsibilities, policies, and procedures

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Experience within MASH, safeguarding, or assessment services
• Strong knowledge of the Signs of Safety framework
• Ability to manage complex cases and provide leadership and oversight
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Right to work in the UK
