Team: Mental Health Acute Care Inpatient Services, South Staffordshire

Days: 4 DAYS ON SITE AND 1 WFH

Hours: 37.5 HOURS A WEEK

Contract: 12 weeks post

Pay: Up to £36.39 per hour

JOB PURPOSE:

To work as a psychologist in the service, providing clinical services directly to people with complex mental health problems and their families/carers and supporting the service and its staff to use strategies that enhance the psychological well-being of people who use this service and their families and/or carers.

The client requires a temporary full time  Clinical/Counselling psychologist at St Georges Hospital, Stafford to work via Direct Engagement .

The role is face to face at St Georges Hospital, Stafford with one day possibly WFH. The role is full time, will consider part time/flex hours. To work Mon – Fri for 12 weeks via Direct Engagement.

Essential Requirements:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS including two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Postgraduate professional doctorate or equivalent relating to psychological services or equivalent as accredited by relevant professional body.
  • Current registration/accreditation with appropriate body with current practising certificate.
  • Assessed significant demonstrable experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, including psychosis, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, in-patient, and residential care settings.
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological care and intervention, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
  • Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention.
  • Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
