About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Children in Need and Child Protection Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment while managing complex cases and delivering high-quality safeguarding services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and create tailored care and protection plans addressing children’s needs and risks.
• Manage complex cases, including those within care proceedings, ensuring timely, child-centred outcomes.
• Undertake regular home visits and build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
• Attend and contribute to case reviews, strategy meetings, and court proceedings with confidence and professionalism.
• Prepare clear, high-quality reports and maintain accurate, detailed case records.
• Work collaboratively across agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of every child.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within child protection and care proceedings.
• Deep understanding of safeguarding legislation, procedures, and best practices.
• Strong ability to manage caseloads effectively and balance competing priorities.
• Local availability for in-person visits (weekly or bi-weekly depending on case needs).
• Flexibility to work between home, the community, and council offices as required.
