Rate: £38 per hour umbrella

Hours: Full Time, Hybrid Flexible Working – MUST BE  A CAR DRIVER

Job Profile:

A Children with Disabilities Social Worker provides emotional, psychological, and practical support to children with disabilities and their families. This includes assessing needs, advocating for resources, providing counseling, and collaborating with various professionals to improve the quality of life for children and their families.

Assessment & Case Management:

• Conduct assessments of children with disabilities to identify their needs, strengths, and challenges.
• Develop and implement care plans tailored to the child’s unique situation, goals, and requirements.
• Monitor the progress of the child’s development, adjusting care plans as needed.

Advocacy:

• Advocate for children’s rights, ensuring they have access to educational opportunities, healthcare, and social services.
• Work with schools, medical professionals, and local authorities to secure services such as therapy, special education, and housing accommodations.

Support Services: 

• Provide emotional and psychological support to children and their families, helping them cope with challenges.
• Offer counseling to families to improve communication and develop strategies for dealing with the child’s disability.
• Assist with the transition from one life stage to another (e.g., from childhood to adolescence, or from school to adult services).
