About the Role:
We are currently recruiting compassionate, flexible, and experienced Care Workers on behalf of a Local Authority in Wales to support adults across three Registered Care Homes in Merthyr. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting older people, individuals with dementia, and adults with learning or physical disabilities in a person-centred and dignified way.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Deliver high-quality personal care and daily living support (e.g., washing, dressing, medication).
β€’ Promote dignity, independence, diversity, and wellbeing in every interaction.
β€’ Support individuals in meaningful activities tailored to their emotional, physical, and cognitive needs.
β€’ Encourage and facilitate engagement in the local and wider community.
β€’ Work flexibly across three care homes, covering scheduled shifts and additional hours as needed.
β€’ Maintain accurate records and contribute to personal plans and reviews.
β€’ Uphold care delivery in line with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016, safeguarding procedures, and internal policies.
β€’ Participate in training, supervision, and continuous professional development.
β€’ Collaborate effectively with families, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams.
β€’ Take part in quality assurance processes and contribute to a safe, homely care environment.

Requirements:
β€’ Registration with Social Care Wales (or willingness to register).
β€’ Previous experience in a care home or similar setting is highly desirable.
β€’ Understanding of dementia, learning disabilities, and complex care needs.
β€’ Ability to work flexible hours, including across multiple homes.
β€’ A caring, respectful, and empathetic nature.
β€’ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
β€’ Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or have one on the Update Service).
