About the Role:
We are working in partnership with a Local Authority in the North East to recruit an experienced and visionary Access and Safeguarding Lead Officer (Adult Social Care). This is a unique opportunity to lead a broad portfolio of frontline services, with a focus on safeguarding, hospital discharge, and locality social work teams. If you are passionate about delivering strengths-based, person-centred care and shaping future-ready services, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and management of multi-disciplinary social care teams
• Oversee Access Safeguarding Team, Hospital Social Work Team, and East/West Locality Teams
• Develop and review key strategies and policies in:
– Safeguarding (in partnership with the Teesside Safeguarding Adults Board)
– Modern Slavery, Exploitation & Human Trafficking
– Discharge to Assess & Home First
– Locality Working approaches
• Champion a person-centred, strength-based, risk-aware culture
• Ensure smooth transitions from referral to care management while maintaining high professional standards

Requirements:
• Extensive experience in adult social care leadership
• Strong knowledge of Care Act (2014) responsibilities
• Proven ability to shape and implement safeguarding strategies
• Skilled in leading and inspiring high-performing teams
• Confident in collaborative partnership working
