We’re currently recruiting for passionate and skilled Children’s Social Workers to join our client’s Safeguarding & Support Teams in Herefordshire. These are fantastic permanent opportunities for experienced practitioners who are committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and families through a restorative, relationship-based approach.

The Children’s Safeguarding & Support Teams are based across three localities, all with excellent transport links. The teams are made up of Team Managers, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Family Support Workers — all working collaboratively to deliver a high-quality, child-focused service.

Working within one of six supportive teams, you’ll engage with families to safeguard children, promote positive change, and ensure their well-being. You’ll also have the flexibility to work from home while maintaining an active presence in the office to collaborate, share knowledge, and build strong working relationships with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake assessments, planning, and interventions with children and families in need of safeguarding and support
• Work closely with the Council’s Legal Team to complete Court applications and attend proceedings when required
• Engage in restorative, strength-based practice to help families achieve sustainable improvements
• Contribute to case discussions and multi-agency planning to ensure the best outcomes for children
• Maintain high standards of record-keeping and compliance with statutory requirements
• Participate in regular supervision and reflective practice sessions with your allocated supervisor

Requirements:
• Degree/Diploma in Social Work (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent)
• Registration with Social Work England
• Substantial experience in Children’s Services, ideally in Safeguarding or Child Protection
• Strong understanding of court processes, safeguarding legislation, and child development
• Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
• Must be a car driver
• Sponsorship available for candidates based in the UK with statutory UK experience
• Enhanced DBS required
