About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the Cared For Team at Torbay Council. Ideal for practitioners seeking a hybrid working arrangement with weekly office attendance and home working. Wi-Fi access and a suitable workspace at home are essential. Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality social work to children, young people, and families in line with statutory guidance and best practice.
• Hold and manage a complex caseload effectively.
• Mentor and support less experienced social workers and newly qualified staff.
• Undertake thorough assessments of service user needs and devise appropriate care packages.
• Actively contribute to safeguarding processes and child protection planning.
• Work flexibly across multiple service areas within Children’s Services.
• Chair and manage meetings such as Core Groups and contribute to court proceedings with minimal managerial oversight.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to administrative and IT procedures.

Requirements:
• Qualified Social Worker with experience in a similar role within Children’s Services.
• Social Work England registration.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Ability to attend the Torbay office weekly and work effectively from home.
• Strong safeguarding and case management experience.
