Rate: £33.30 per hour

Job Description: 

Key Responsibilities:

Initial Assessments

  • Conduct initial screening and assessments of the needs of children and families referred to the service.
  • Identify the level of support required and recommend appropriate interventions.

Child Protection

  • Perform risk assessments to identify children at risk of harm.
  • Develop and implement effective safety plans to safeguard vulnerable children.

Duty Work

  • Act as the first point of contact, responding to urgent cases and managing crisis situations swiftly.
  • Provide timely intervention and support in emergency cases, ensuring the safety of children.

Case Management

  • Maintain a manageable caseload, developing tailored care plans for children and families.
  • Regularly review cases to ensure that interventions remain appropriate and effective.

Multi-Agency Collaboration

  • Collaborate with professionals from health, education, and other sectors to provide holistic support for children and families.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings to ensure coordinated care.

Documentation

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date case records.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, including those for court proceedings, as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Social Work.
  • Registration with Social Work England (or relevant professional body).

Experience:

  • Proven experience in child protection, safeguarding, and family assessment.
  • Familiarity with working within a high-pressure environment and managing crisis situations.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills for engaging with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
  • Excellent analytical and assessment abilities.
  • Ability to manage a complex and demanding caseload.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required to manage urgent cases.
