About the Role

Supply Care Solutions is currently recruiting for two Interim Children’s Homes Deputy Managers to support Coventry City Council’s Children’s Residential Services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children’s Residential professional who is ready to step into a leadership role and make an immediate impact.

The successful candidates will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home, providing effective leadership and ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance are maintained.

The Vacancies

 Vacancy 1 – Emergency Placement Home
 Doe Bank Lane, Coventry

A short-term emergency placement home supporting children and young people who may present with emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.

 Vacancy 2 – Long-Term Residential Home
 Frankwell Drive, Coventry

A 2-bed residential home providing longer-term placements for young people with emotional and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Deputy Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home.
  • Providing effective operational leadership and oversight.
  • Supervising, supporting and developing residential care staff.
  • Managing rotas and supporting workforce planning.
  • Coaching and mentoring staff to promote high standards of practice.
  • Undertaking quality assurance and auditing.
  • Completing report writing and case record reviews.
  • Leading and attending meetings with staff, children, families and professionals.
  • Supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Developing effective relationships with partner agencies and professionals.
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted requirements and relevant regulations.
  • Supporting inspections and maintaining regulatory documentation.
  • Responding effectively to the needs of the service and providing hands-on management support.

Working Pattern

  • 37 hours per week
  • Fully onsite
  • No remote or hybrid working
  • Typical working hours are 9:00am–5:00pm
  • Flexibility is required
  • Shift work may be required
  • On-call duties
  • Approximately one weekend per month
  • Attendance outside normal working hours when required

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring flexibility, responsiveness and a strong commitment to supporting children, young people and the wider residential care team.

Pay & Enhancements

  • £19.29 per hour PAYE
  • £26.79 per hour Umbrella equivalent
  • Weekend enhancement: Additional 10%
  • On-call payment: £35.89 Umbrella
  • Sleep-in payment: £42.12 Umbrella

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Significant experience working within an Ofsted-regulated Children’s Residential setting.
  • Minimum Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Residential Childcare.
  • Previous experience supervising or managing staff within a residential environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
  • The ability to work confidently in a fast-paced residential environment.
  • The ability to start quickly and make an immediate positive impact.
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • A Schedule 2 check will form part of the compliance process.

Desirable:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
