About the Role:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join a dedicated Mental Health Service based at The Caludon Centre, Coventry.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing essential Mental Health Act services and ensuring timely interventions for individuals experiencing mental health crises. The role involves supporting and covering the AMHP Duty Desk during business hours, working within the Mental Health Act framework to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Triage referrals for Mental Health Act assessments.
• Support the AMHP Duty Desk and wider mental health pathway.
• Undertake Mental Health Act assessments in accordance with relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
• Work collaboratively with health professionals, social care teams, police, and partner agencies.
• Provide professional advice and guidance on Mental Health Act processes and procedures.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records.
• Ensure all interventions are carried out in line with safeguarding policies and professional standards.
• Be available throughout allocated shift hours and contribute to an effective duty service.

Requirements:

• Qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).
• Current Social Work England registration (or relevant professional registration where applicable).
• Experience undertaking Mental Health Act assessments within a statutory setting.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy duty environment.
• Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding legislation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
