About the Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client in Sunderland for an experienced Child and Family Worker to join their team on a 6-month temporary contract, with the possibility of extension. This rewarding role involves working closely with children, young people, and families to provide practical support and interventions that help keep children safe and supported within their home environment wherever possible.

Where children are unable to remain at home, you will support alternative care arrangements and rehabilitation plans. You will also facilitate and supervise family time/contact sessions between cared for children and their parents or wider family network, ensuring sessions are safe, positive, and purposeful.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting Social Workers with Child Protection (CP), Child in Need (CIN), and Cared for Children (CLA) plans
• Supervising family time/contact sessions
• Undertaking direct work with children and families, including life story work
• Producing accurate case recordings and reports
• Building effective relationships with children, families, and professionals
• Supporting transport arrangements and attending venues across and outside Sunderland when required
• Ensuring planned interventions and family time sessions take place effectively

Requirements:
• Experience working with children and families
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or suitable mobility support)
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends where required
• Enhanced DBS checked for adults and children
• Full UK Right to Work
• National Insurance Number
• x2 recent employment references

Desirable Experience:
• Family time/contact supervision experience
