About the Role:
I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable housing client for an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join their team on an agency contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional seeking a varied and autonomous role with a strong customer focus.

You will be responsible for delivering a responsive, high-quality maintenance service across a diverse housing portfolio. Working closely with contractors, you’ll diagnose defects, scope remedial works, and ensure delivery is safe, compliant, on time, and within budget.

This role offers flexible hybrid working, giving you autonomy to manage your own diary across site visits, home working, and travel.

Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake inspections of both occupied and void properties
• Diagnose defects including damp and mould in line with Awaab’s Law principles
• Scope and manage remedial works up to £50,000
• Carry out pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality and compliance
• Manage contractor performance and maintain strong working relationships
• Ensure all health & safety and statutory compliance requirements are met
• Support delivery of planned, cyclical, and compliance programmes
• Contribute to improving customer satisfaction and overall service delivery

Requirements:
• HNC / HND / Degree in Surveying, Construction, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Strong post-qualification experience in property maintenance or surveying
• In-depth understanding of building pathology, including complex issues such as subsidence
• Proven experience diagnosing property defects and specifying remedial works
• Knowledge of housing legislation and compliance standards
• Demonstrable experience managing contractors
• Strong report writing and IT/system skills
