About the Role:
Supply Care Solutions is currently recruiting for a Fostering Support Worker to join a busy and proactive team supporting children and young people across Wigan. This is a rewarding opportunity to support Kinship Foster Carers and prospective Special Guardians, helping ensure children remain safely within their family and community networks where they are unable to live with their parents.

You will play a key role in promoting safeguarding, placement stability and positive outcomes while ensuring practice remains compliant with fostering regulations and national standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support Kinship Foster Carers and Special Guardians to a high professional standard
• Ensure compliance with Fostering Regulations, National Minimum Standards and Care Planning Regulations
• Promote safeguarding, stability and positive outcomes for children and young people
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and reports
• Contribute to carer assessments and annual reviews
• Attend Foster Panels, planning meetings, reviews and case conferences
• Prepare reports and attend court when required
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies and community partners
• Transport or supervise contact arrangements where necessary
• Escort children and families to appointments or admissions into care
• Access appropriate services to meet identified needs
• Plan and implement programmes of support
• Undertake assessments of children, young people and families
• Work in an anti-discriminatory and inclusive manner

Requirements:
• One of the following qualifications:

• NNEB
• BTEC in Nursery Nursing
• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education
• NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People
• Health & Social Care Level 3 – Children and Young People
  • Knowledge of childcare legislation including Fostering Regulations and Care Planning Regulations
  • Strong understanding of equality, diversity and inclusive practice
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships
  • Innovative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Child-focused approach with strong safeguarding awareness
